Three days after providing aid to flash flood victims in Agam and Tanah Datar Regencies , Tzu Chi Padang volunteers delivered additional assistance. This aid included 150 packages of basic food supplies, 105 blankets, 100 boxes of mineral water, bread, and wearable clothing.

Since morning, Sri with Tzu Chi volunteers in Meulaboh and Banda Aceh prepared 1,000 packages of rice. This social service is also a moment of commemoration approaching the 20th anniversary of the Aceh Tsunami.

Grandma Siti Kaum (92) is an elderly person who was born in 1929 and lives in Tanjung Batu Kecil Village, located in Buru District, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province. She is one of the beneficiary of Tzu Chi’s house renovation assistance since the condition of her house was quite poor and unfit for habitation.

Monday, April 27, 2020, the Tzu Chi Foundation distributed 10,000 Cinta Kasih basic food packages of 5 kg of rice, 1 box of instant noodles @ 40 packs and reusable cotton masks to alleviate the suffering of the people affected by the Covid-19 outbreak in collaboration with the TNI.

Tzu Chi Batam and Batam Red Cross deluvered 6300 snacks, 4410 instant coffee, 1900 tea bags, and 3 dispensers for construction workers who are building the Covid-19 patient shelter in Galang Island, Riau Province.

Since beginning of 9 AM up to 7 PM, there were 16 pickup trucks that managed to transport trashes or garbages from Grandma Haw Lie Tjoan’s house. Grandma Tjoan picks up garbage for sale and to suffice her living expenses. However, day by day, the garbage is increasing, more enough to make her house full, and piled up to a height of approximately 2 meters, almost touching the ceilings.

Knowing that Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation offers university scholarship in Taiwan, Victoria enrolled herself, sat for the test, and interview in December in Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta. In April, the announcement came to her through email from Jakarta and her name was there. With gratitude and joy, Victoria became more enthusiastic living her life.
