Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association (Tzu Ching)
The Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association (Tzu Ching) is a forum for the young generation of Tzu Chi which consists of a group of students from various universities. Master Cheng Yen advised Tzu Ching to use the power of youth and influence the youth. Tzu Ching must develop a spirit of togetherness in order to guide more young people to participate in this beautiful and virtuous organization. The message was also welcomed by Tzu Ching worldwide, including Indonesia. Since it was formed in Jakarta in September 7, 2003 with 32 members, until now Tzu Ching has spread to several regions in Indonesia, starting from Jakarta, Tangerang, Bandung, Medan, Pekanbaru, Batam, Singkawang, to Makassar.
Every year Tzu Ching gathers to invite new friends to get to know Tzu Chi's mission more deeply through Tzu Ching Camp. The activity for 3 days 2 nights was first started from December 30, 2006 until January 1, 2007 and was attended by 49 people. This first camp is following by another camp every year. As time goes on, the number of participants has increased. Until 2012, Tzu Ching Camp has been held 7 times and 764 students have participated. In September 7, 2013, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the formation of the Tzu Ching, these young volunteers held a performance of the Sutra of Infinite Meaning (Wu Liang Yi Jing) which was attended by Tzu Ching from various cities.
Tzu Ching participated in various activities, ranging from social services, rice distribution, home visits to the aid recipients, as well as orphanages and nursing homes, to environmental protection activities. Various Tzu Chi activities are often supported by Tzu Ching as one of the community volunteers. They carry the hope that love will continue to be inherited and will always be present in the future.
