Forge oneself to be wise
The solicitation of one’s duty requires wisdom within himself which was discussed by the deputy chairman of Tzu Chi, Sugianto Kusuma. Although, the volunteers who are appointed to be the candidates of the committee are certain for the position, Sugianto Kusuma stated that a committee should consist people who are committed and will always fulfil their promises.
“I hope that all the volunteers do all activities and fulfil their promises faithfully to forge themselves to be wise” he said.
Furthermore, Sugianto Kusuma emphasized that being a member of the committee is not one achievement for the volunteers but one visible step to be wise.
To flourish in Tzu Chi
The vice chairman of Tzu Chi Indonesia, Sugianto Kusuma gives the spirit and message of love to the volunteers.
Foeng Jie Tju (middle), one of the volunteers of He Qi tries to practice master’s dharma in his every step in Tzu Chi.
Sugianto Kusuma gives advice to always forge oneself and learn in Tzu Chi, which he feels is important for all volunteers of Tzu Chi, including one of the volunteers of He Qi, Foeng Jie Tju, who is usually addressed as Tju Tju. Although, he is doubtful to commit himself but eventually he believed that to volunteer himself and learn will surely benefit him. There is no harm to learn because Tzu Chi is the right place which gives the training for personal development.
“After few thoughts to believe that we can be a good student after listening to the lectures of Master through DAAI TV, I realise that there is nothing to fear to be a good student, candidate of the committee which is a devotion” Tju Tju said.
Since 2013, Tju Tju joined Tzu Chi and known as a volunteer who always accepts and performs his service without any reasons. Tju Tju confesses that he always remembers Master Cheng Yen’s advice who always tells him to do everything full heartedly.
