Tzu Chi Batam together with PMI (Indonesian Red Cross) Batam visited the construction site of a shelter built for the Covid-19 patients in Galang Island, Riau Islands Province.

In this visit, volunteers handed over 6300 packs of snacks/biscuits, 4410 instant coffee sachets, 1900 packs of tea bags, and 3 water dispensers.

Due to thousands of workers having difficulty finding food at night, Tzu Chi Batam decided to provide snacks to increase the energy and concentration of the building artists (construction workers).

"We came today because we appreciate the support you have provided. Hopefully the food and drinks we bring can reduce sleepiness," said Rudi Tan, Head of Tzu Chi Batam.

"We are very grateful. In my 18 years of running construction projects, this is the first time that there is a foundation that cares," said Anas Maghfuri, Covid-19 Shelter Project Manager.

"We represent the people of Batam to thank you for coming all the way from Central Java. Hopefully this Covid-19 prevention facility can start operating soon and help patients from various regions in Indonesia, "said Rudi Tan.

Together we can overcome the Corona Outbreak.
