Oxygen Concentrator Assistance from Tzu Chi Taiwan to the Secretariat of the President of the Republic of Indonesia

Tzu Chi Indonesia handed over 500 units of oxygen concentrator (out of a total of 5,000 units of aid) from Tzu Chi Taiwan to the Secretariat of the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

After the arrival of the oxygen concentrators in Indonesia and being taken to the Tzu Chi Center, Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta on Monday, 26th July 2021, 500 oxygen concentrator units (out of a total of 5,000 aid units) were symbolically handed over through the Secretariat of the President of the Republic of Indonesia on Tuesday, 27th July 2021, for handling Covid-19 in Indonesia.

This assistance is Tzu Chi Taiwan's support for Tzu Chi Indonesia to assist the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. Master Cheng Yen, founder of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, is concerned about the current surge in cases of Covid-19 patients in Indonesia. Master hopes that the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia can be handled quickly and well.
 
 
General Secretary of Tzu Chi Indonesia, Hong Tjhin gave a speech at the delivery of 500 oxygen concentrator units at the Presidential Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia.

 
 
Representatives from the RSCM, Gatot Soebroto RSPAD, Bekasi City Hospital, Metro Jaya Regional Police Health Center, Bogor City Hospital, Police Hospital, State Secretariat Polyclinic, and DKI Jakarta Health Service participated in the procession of handing over 500 oxygen concentrator units.

“In this pleasant occasion, introduce us, representing the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, Indonesia, conveying the donation of oxygen concentrators initiated by the Central Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation in Taiwan to help our brothers and sisters in Indonesia because we really understand the urgent need for oxygen. We hope that this assistance can be well received and distributed, so that as soon as possible it can provide benefits," said Hong Tjhin, General Secretary of Tzu Chi Indonesia in his speech.

In this activity, representatives from RSCM, Gatot Soebroto RSPAD, Bekasi City Hospital, Metro Jaya Regional Police Health Center, Bogor City Hospital, Police Hospital, State Secretariat Polyclinic, and DKI Jakarta Health Service symbolically received the oxygen concentrators.

This Oxygen concentrator assistance will also be gradually distributed to areas of East Java, DIY, Central Java, Tangerang, and other hospitals in need.

“To the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation and all Entrepreneurs Caring for the NKRI, I thank you for working together to provide the oxygen concentrators. Second, I would like to thank the representatives of the recipients, without them we would not be able to distribute what we got, of course, in the hands of ladies and gentlemen, we will hand these over," said Head of the Presidential Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, Heru Budi Hartono.
 
 
The head of the DKI Jakarta Health Officer, dr. Widyastuti, M.KM (left) symbolically received the delivery of the oxygen concentrator assistance to help Covid-19 patients in DKI Jakarta.

The need for oxygen is urgently needed amid the soaring number of Covid-19 patients in Indonesia in July 2021. In DKI Jakarta Province alone, there are 194 DKI Regional Government Hospitals and 32 of them are the RSUDA that treat Covid-19 patients. Of course, the oxygen concentrator assistance will help out hospitals that treat Covid-19 patients.

"Alhamdullilah, this afternoon the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government received oxygen concentrator assistance which is certainly very useful. The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation really understands what the needs of the residents are, during this pandemic and later we will distribute the aid to those who are entitled. We hope that this oxygen concentrator assistance can really help reduce the number of deaths in DKI Jakarta," said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Office, dr. Widyastuti, M.KM after receiving oxygen concentrator assistance.

 
 
In this activity, the Head of the Presidential Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, Heru Budi Hartono, also provided information about the mechanism for distributing oxygen concentrators to several areas.
 
In addition to the assistance of 500 units of oxygen concentrator, 4,500 units will also be distributed gradually after arriving in Indonesia in the next few days.
