President Director of Tzu Chi Hospital, dr. Gunawan Susanto, General Director of Tzu Chi Hospital, Suriadi, and Tzu Chi volunteer, Yang Pit Lu (Lulu) visited Gavin Adriel Admito, the first baby born at Tzu Chi Hospital

Six months after his cesarean section at Tzu Chi Hospital, Gavin Adriel Admito is now growing well and healthy. When visited by the staff of Tzu Chi Hospital and Tzu Chi volunteers on Thursday, December 30, 2021, Gavin's physical condition was also very good with a normal ratio of weight, height, and head circumference for babies at that age.

Born on June 15, 2021 at the pandemic ward Tzu Chi Hospital, twins Gavin Adriel Admito and Gevan Ezkhiel Admito are the first babies born at Tzu Chi Hospital to Tomy and Mita Indah Sari. Before giving birth, Mita was detected positive for Covid-19 and had preeclampsia (high blood pressure) causing the twins in her womb had to be delivered by cesarean section immediately.

While in the lap of the General Director of Tzu Chi Hospital, Suriadi, Gavin also observed new faces in his house. Gavin's parents, Tomy and Mita laughed at their son's behavior.

Because they were not yet born at 35 weeks, one of the twins, Gevan Ezkhiel Admito, could not survive and died due to immature lung conditions and intestinal abnormalities after 27 days of intensive care at Tzu Chi Hospital. Gavin who was treated for one week was allowed to go home, and he is now growing well at the age of 6 months.

Attention from Volunteers and Tzu Chi Hospital
President Director of Tzu Chi Hospital, dr. Gunawan Susanto was very happy to see Gavin's growth and development at the age of 6 months.

President Director of Tzu Chi Hospital, dr. Gunawan Susanto, General Director of Tzu Chi Hospital, Suriadi, and Tzu Chi volunteer, Yang Pit Lu (Lulu) also had the opportunity to visit Gavin and his family's residence at City Park Apartments in Cengkareng. This visit was to visit and see Gavin's condition after he was 6 months old.

“Gavin is not only the first patient, but it also happens to be Tzu Chi Hospital’s first case to assist with the birth and all of the care for the twins. We at Tzu Chi Hospital hope to be able to help with the growing progress and assure that it is going well. Judging by the progress today, his growth is very good at the age of 6 months. His growth development and reactions are very good,” said the President Director of Tzu Chi Hospital, dr. Gunawan Susanto.

Along with bringing gifts, during this loving visit the staff of Tzu Chi Hospital and Tzu Chi volunteers also discussed Gavin's development.

"In the future, we will regularly come for love visits here to see Gavin’s growth progress," added dr. Gunawan Susanto.

Expressions of Gratitude to Tzu Chi
After the love visit was over, the staff of Tzu Chi Hospital and Tzu Chi volunteers said goodbye and prayed that Gavin would continue to grow and develop well.

Gavin, who had been asleep, finally woke up hearing his parents discussing with the Tzu Chi Hospital staff and Tzu Chi volunteers. Instead of crying because his sleep was disturbed, Gavin also wanted to be carried around while observing new faces in his house.

The presence of Tzu Chi Hospital staff and Tzu Chi volunteers was greeted with joy by Tomy and Mita. This visit made Gavin's parents feel the care and kindness of the volunteers and Tzu Chi Hospital.

“Thank you very much for all the help, from a material point of view, of course, from my birth, the care for my second child, Gevan, who was treated for more than 1 month at Tzu Chi Hospital but God's will said differently (died). It was all fully assisted without me spending a penny. I am very grateful for the kindness of Tzu Chi volunteers and doctors at Tzu Chi,” said Mita.
