Welcoming the operation of Tzu Chi Hospital, on Sunday, June 13, 2021, Tzu Chi Indonesia people prayed together by attending the worship of the Medicine Buddha Sutra, either online (by Zoom) or in person in the front lobby of Tzu Chi Hospital (76 participants were carried out under very strict health protocols).

Precisely at 1 P.M. on Monday, June 14, 2021, Tzu Chi Hospital in Indonesia will start operating. In the early stages, Tzu Chi Hospital will start accepting COVID-19 patients in a special treatment room (pandemic ward) located on the 9th floor of Tzu Chi Hospital, PIK, North Jakarta.

The Senior Director of Tzu Chi Hospital, Prof. Dr. dr. Satyanegara, Sp.BS(K) in his speech said, "During the construction of Tzu Chi Hospital, the medical team, the IT team, and others have worked hard, complementing each other so that Tzu Chi Hospital can be established."

With the presence of Tzu Chi Hospital in Indonesia, Prof. Dr. dr. Satyanegara, Sp.BS(K) hopes to be able to run according to the Tzu Chi Hospital's motto of "Respect Life, Safeguard Health and Pass on Love."

Meanwhile, President Director of Tzu Chi Hospital, dr. Gunawan Susanto, explained that in the service of COVID-19 patients, Tzu Chi Hospital has considered three important things. "Pay attention to the patients' well-being, prevent hospital staff from contracting the COVID-19 in handling of COVID-19 patients, and prevent the spread of infected areas to medical personnel or the surrounding areas." dr. Gunawan explained.

The worship of the Medicine Buddha Sutra was held in order to the smooth running of operational of the Pandemic Ward Tzu Chi Hospital which will start operating on Monday, June 14, 2021.

Getting Master Cheng Yen's Blessing

Eight years ago, on February 10, 2013, Tzu Chi Indonesia received the blessing of Master Cheng Yen to establish Tzu Chi Hospital Indonesia. Three years later, on May 31, 2015, to be exact, the groundbreaking milestone marked the start of the construction of Tzu Chi Hospital Indonesia, at Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta.
