Life Wisdom: Pooling Love Together to Light Up the World

Recently, I've been saying that we must look back at what we've done. Today, there are many Tzu Chi members here, including our Tzu Cheng members, Tzu Chi commissioners, and honorary board members. There are those who have long served with Tzu Chi, those who have newly joined our rank, and those who we have yet to inspire to join us. Those who have long served with Tzu Chi are our senior Tzu Chi members.

Today, some senior Tzu Chi members have been certified as Tzu Cheng members or Tzu Chi commissioners. Also, I'm grateful to our honorary board members for supporting Tzu Chi and helping to carry out Tzu Chi's work around the world by giving with love steadfastly. I often speak about our international relief work. Our Tzu Chi volunteers always carry out relief with local resources, and when more resources are required, we Tzu Chi members in Taiwan will provide support.

Tzu Chi was founded in Taiwan, and so, we should let the light of love shine forth from Taiwan. I've been mentioning fireflies lately. Just like the glow of a firefly, our individual strength is limited. Yet, we can save up every day and pool together the coins we have saved. Saving our spare change every day does not affect our livelihood at all. Contrarily, our spare change can accumulate considerably to help the needy. (One, two, three!) We've finally pushed the oxcart up the hill.

We see that many Tzu Chi members have brought forth their love. They've all heard and responded to my call to support our purchase of COVID-19 vaccines. During my visit this time, they showed with sincerity how they responded to my call. they responded to my call. They'd saved money bit by bit in their coin banks, and as I visited here, they came and pooled togeth pouring the money into a few big vats on a four-wheeled cart.

Our volunteer, Ci Yue, told me that with the accumulation of coins, the vats on the four-wheeled cart had been filled up. See, such is the great power of love. With many coins pooled together, a lot of people in need can be helped. This is how we can let the light of love shine forth from Taiwan. By doing so, we can light up the world and make it a peaceful and wonderful place. By serving without asking for anything in return, naturally we can inspire love in many people.

Our volunteers are truly creative. They asked me to pull on the donation receipts. They asked me to pull on the donation receipts. I thought there were only a few receipts. I kept pulling and yet, I couldn't pull all of them out. Our volunteers accumulated the donation receipts piece by piece, and each receipt symbolizes a great strength to help the needy. I often say that I always take on missions regardless of whether I can do it. When seeing people in suffering, I always say, "Let us shoulder the relief work." How many people can actually do the work? I harbor deep faith that we can all give of ourselves selflessly with love. That's right.

As Master and disciples, we all have faith in this. everyone can give selflessly with love, we should share Tzu Chi with everyone we meet. Back then, I told my eldest brother that supporting Tzu Chi's purchase of vaccines can benefit many people and create countless merits. I encouraged him to donate one million NT dollars (36,000 USD) and he agreed at once. Yet, due to his poor health, he passed away before he could make the donation. Then, I told his children, "Your father agreed to" "help to purchase vaccines," "which can create countless merits."

Having heard me say so, they agreed at once too. This was how they showed their filial piety to This was how they showed their filial piety to their father. They wired the money to our foundation as it's a faster way to make the donation. Of course, they've continued to give their support by making donations.

I'm very grateful to Master. Thanks to Master, we can have many opportunities to sow blessings and help bring peace to society. When I was upstairs, I listened to this volunteer share how he'd worked perseveringly to encourage his family to support our purchase of vaccines.

He is very eloquent, and despite being advanced in age, he still has a sound mind. Apart from living out life's truths himself, he also shares Tzu Chi with people he meets and encourages them to help to purchase vaccines, as he has faith that everyone can be inspired to do good and give selflessly with love. Helping the needy can bring us the greatest joy. I'm very grateful that there are so many Tzu Chi members striving to help the needy. Human nature is inherently kind. The Buddha said that everyone shares the same Buddha nature. Our innate nature is as kind and pure as the Buddha's. Coming to this world, the Buddha witnessed people's unspeakable suffering.

So, he vowed to cultivate himself. He then attained enlightenment and was liberated from the cycle of rebirth that is filled with endless suffering. Yet, as he felt deeply for those in suffering, he returned to this world to guide us to cultivate upright conduct, nurture wisdom, cultivate upright conduct, nurture wisdom, awaken to the true principles in the universe, and sow blessings for the world.

As Buddhists, we should keep walking the Bodhisattva Path and caring for those in suffering. I'm grateful to all Tzu Cheng members, Tzu Chi commissioners, honorary board members, and donating members for

pooling their love together. We reap what we have sown in our past lives. If we have sown blessings in our past lives, we will reap blessings in this life. We are reaping what we have sown and what we sow now determines what we will reap. So, we must strive to do good and walk the Bodhisattva Path. It's our shared goal to continue our good affinities with one another, cultivate ourselves by living out the Dharma, and walk the Bodhisattva Path together life after life.
A smart person places great emphasis on gain and loss, whereas a wise person is courageous to let go.
